NoodleTools

Here are some resources for researching your artist. There are also a number of books in the library you may find helpful. Feel free to stop by and ask Mrs. Wong for help finding them.

Britannica School Edition *

Great encyclopedia to start your research. Accessing from here eliminates of all of those ads!

Biography in Context*

This very reliable source has thousands of biographies. Use Biography in Context to find biographical information about your artist.
*These two sites are provided to us for free by the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners and the Massachusetts Library System. If you are accessing these sites from outside Massachusetts, please email Mrs. Wong for an out-of-state login.

Still Struggling?

If you are still having a hard time finding information about your artist, please see Mrs. Wong about getting access to Oxford Art through the Boston Public Library. It is easy to get a BPL eCard and it opens up a wealth of research resources.

Boston Museum of Fine Art

Our very own MFA is a great place to research your artist.

 Smithsonian Archives of American Art

The Smithsonian Archives of American Art is a great place to look for artwork by your artist and find some information about their work. It is not likely to have comprehensive biographical information.

Heilbrunn Timeline of Art History

This site from the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York illustrates the history of art movements throughout the world using essays and objects from the Museum collections.

National Gallery

The website of National Gallery in London includes an Artist A-Z that includes information about the artists and works contained in their collections.
